The Carsington 7+ race is located adjacent to Severn Trent Water’s Carsington Visitors Centre near Ashbourne.

CAR PARKING
We are using the main Carsington Water Visitors car park and the overspill car park (0.4 miles away) as the race car parks. They will be clearly sign posted on race day. They are expected to get busy on race morning so please arrive as early as possible.
The cost for the overspill car park is £3 and is cash only. Severn Trent Water have kindly agreed for Carsington 7+ entrants to pay £3 for parking all day in the overspill car park only (this does not apply to the main visitors centre car park). The £3 tickets are only available from the car park marshal next to the pay machine. There is only one pay machine (cash only and not card) in the overspill car park and the car park fees may differ if using this. If parking in this car park please allow extra time to obtain a ticket. There is no change given by the car park marshal nor at the pay machine so please ensure you have the correct amount.
The cost of the main Carsington Water Visitors car park (right next to the start/finish) is £3.50 for 1-2 hours / £6 for 2-4 hours / £7 for all-day. Severn Trent Water operate an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) car parking system in this car park. Payment is to be made when you are leaving and can be done at one of the pay machines or online within 24 hours of exiting.
There are additional car parks at Millfields (1.3 miles away) and Sheepwash (1.6 miles away). Both are also ANPR monitored These could make an ideal warm-up before and warm-down after the race. There are no marshals located at these car parks and local parking fees and opening times apply.

Please note that if there is very wet weather leading up to the event, then Severn Trent Water may not allow opening of the overspill car park and participants will be expected to park in the main visitors centre car park or to find safe and legal alternative parking instead.
ARRIVAL
The race will start on time so please leave plenty of time to arrive. The car parks open at 7.30am. Depending on traffic conditions the main Carsington Water Visitors car park may close 15-30 minutes before the race and everyone will be directed to the overflow car park located beside the dam. We recommend that you aim to arrive 75 minutes before your start time (please refer to the race information and your race number). Please follow the marshals’ instructions at all times when entering and exiting the car parks. Please be patient during peak times.
Whilst we will have marshals in both of these car parks supporting the flow of traffic, we do not accept responsibility for vehicles, items left in vehicles, the fees charged and any fines issued by the car park management.
